September 17-18:  Opening Weekend at the Colonel Cob’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch:  gate proceeds both days will benefit The Miracle League.  Open:  Friday night:  6-10 pm, Saturday, Noon-10 pm.  Live entertainment throughout the weekend. Visit www.colcobscornmaze.com for more information. 

Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 2-3rd – “Miracle League Charity Classic” (USSSA Qualifier).  Ages 8-14, $325/team.  Tournament to be held at City Pond Park in Covington, GA and at Criswell Park in Monroe, GA.  Contact Jody Johnson at to register or for more information.

October 8-9 “Sherman’s Last Burning BBQ and Fall Festival” to be held at Legion Field – to benefit The Miracle League.  The Covington Lion’s Club will again be hosting this annual event.  BBQ cook-off, entertainment, craft booths, activities for the kids, etc.  Times:  Friday, 3-9 pm, Saturday, 10 am – 6:00 pm.  Visit www.covingtongalions.org for more information.

“If you Build it….We will come”

Newton County Recreation Commission, Covington Rotary Club, Covington Kiwanis Club, The Covington & Oxford Lions' Clubs and The Friends of Newton Parks have all joined together in partnership to build the first ever Miracle League  Field  in Newton County.

The complex will include a custom-designed field with a cushioned rubberized surface to help prevent injuries, wheelchair accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players. Accessible restrooms, a concession stand, and picnic pavilion will also be incorporated within this design.The complex will be built at City Pond Park in Covington.

With the help of community volunteers and companies, Newton County’s very first Miracle League complex will provide the opportunity for all children to play baseball regardless of their physical ability. Your contribution to the Miracle League Field project could make a difference in a child’s life. 

  Donations can be made, by check, to the Miracle League Account at any Newton Branch of The Bank of North Georgia.
