The Newton County Recreation Commission Cheerleading Program is offered to girls, ages 5-12. This program institutes the fundamentals of the sport while teaching participants new techniques, cheers and chants as well as tumbling and stunts from the very basic to the more advanced. Our cheerleading program is a stepping stone for those wishing to pursue the sport in Middle School.
Our cheerleaders cheer for our Football Program from September to late October. Practice will begin in August. Teams are allowed to practice two times during the week and once on the weekends.
Trophies are awarded to 1st & 2nd place football teams in each division at the end of the season. Cheerleaders on a 1st or 2nd place winning team will also receive a trophy along with the football team.
